Flout!

Flout! Pizza... is it the best in Belfast? Located at Portview Trade Centre on the Newtonards Road, this spot needs no introduction given the recent traction on social media. Specialising in NY, Detroit and Sicilian style pizzas, it's safe to say there's absolutely nothing else like this in the country never mind Belfast. As a slice shop they have a different menu everyday and i can truly say no matter which ones you choose you won't be disappointed (coming from someone who has been 4 separate times and orders way too much on every occasion...). SO, Let's talk pizza: First box Starting from the left we had the pimped cheese, which is one of their standard slices. Detroit style cheese with possibly the most insane crust ever. 10/10. Top right was the special on the day we were there. Sicilian style slice with sausage, gochujang vodka sauce and onions. The sausage on this was too good. 10/10. Skipping the middle slice because it needs its own section... Lastly was a trust...

Ragin' Ramen

Welcome to Ragin' Ramen - Belfast's first Japanese-style noodle bar. Located on busy Church Lane, this cosy little restaurant is the perfect city centre foodie find. Serving up all sorts of ramen dishes alongside some interesting sides, this spot makes for a unique dining experience in the heart of the city.

In true traditional noodle bar fashion we were met with cosy decor and tight tables in order to utilise the space. With some low lighting and the odd neon sign it definitely set the tone for the experience and i was eager to get around to trying some exciting and highly rated menu items.

Raijin, £14

Spice bag roast pork belly, pork bone broth, soy sake tare, spring onion, daikon, soy egg, black garlic oil, nori and ramen noodles. Really flavourful pork belly however quite hard to eat due to its size and shape, but this didn't take away from the really tasty broth and well cooked noodles that made a really well rounded dish that leaves you feeling very satisfied. (Notable mention to the perfect soy egg however this is bias as i am obsessed with them.)

Astro Boy, £14

Crispy pork belly, aromatic spicy miso tare, charred corn, soy egg, chilli oil, pork tantenmen broth, udon noodles. The pork belly was perfectly crispy and i really enjoyed the conveniency of the bite size pieces, and with perfect udon noodles the only critique is the ratio of meat being slightly more than that of noodle -  however you can interpret yourself wether that's a good or bad thing.

Totoro taco & Ramen, £15

Braised beef brisket corn tacos with American cheese, mozzarella, pineapple and yuzu salsa, birria broth, chilli oil and ramen noodles. This dish was definitely a twist, combining traditional ramen with the increasingly popular birria tacos. It's certainly on trend and it tasted great too, with the birria broth being ideally spicy and a perfect vessel to dip the tacos into making for a really unique and delicious bite.

At roughly £15 a bowl it's definitely one of the more expensive options, but one i would recommend to anyone to try at least once nonetheless if you're looking for a quirky spot with some really good food and excellent service.
